Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Ex's Girlfriend causing problems
I am at my wits end. Please help. My ex and i will be officialy divorced within the next couple months. i have full physical custody of both our boys (5 and 8) and we have 50/50 legal. however, his live in girlfriend is doing things with the kids that HE should be doing. i.e. doing homework (forcing actualy), making them eat (normaly fast food) and writing on and signing school work. all of this is driving me nuts because i hate how she goes aobut doing these things with my children and it is not her place! do i have any legal rights to keep her from doing this? I'm tempted to call the school and just pick up homework so that my children are not forced to do their work with their dad or her. she also is the one who administers punishments (no spankings that i know of) and such at their house and has a tendancy to bad mouth our religion and/or tell the children that what they/i belive in is wrong.

Your concerns regarding these issues should be taken up with your spouse before your divorce is finalized and when, perhaps, there is still time as well as opportunity to address and negotiate some sort of settlement of these matters.
