Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Exwife using expired insurance in my name

My ex wife was recently hospitalized. She has not been on my insurance since we divorced 4 years ago. I just received a bill from her recent hospitalization because she gave the hospital an out of date insurance card (from when we were married) and gave them my information as her point of contact. Can I do anything about this? I was thinking I can file a police report for fraud for two reasons..first using out of date insurance information and second filing under her married name which she no longer legally goes by. Is there anything else I can do to protect myself from these costs?

Re: Exwife using expired insurance in my name

You could reject the bill and return it to its sender with the explanation that you've provided.(And, also inform your insurer that it should not be paid under any circumstances. I would not, however, involve the police in this matter.)
