What remedies are available to the prosecution of a spuse who is convicted of murdering the other spouse but claims to have been battered spouse?

If the murdering spouse has already been convicted of the crime, presumably she's(assuming a female gender) either already in or will be taking up residence in the state penitentiary some time very soon.

If such be the case, I would rather doubt that at this juncture in matters, that it would likely be very practical to be considering any other remedies or measures which might be taken against her(or him if I'm wrong about the gender)at this time.
