Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Family Law/Child Custody

I have to be in court tomorrow because the father of my son is going for custody/visitation. His lawyer has put in a motion to be heard tomorrow for guardian ad litem and said that it should only be a 10 minute hearing. I have not been able to obtain a lawyer due to limited income. I just found out about legal aid this week and haven't been able to contact them. Tomorrow is the preliminary hearing and I was wondering what am I to expect? Will it matter that I won't have an attorney present tomorrow? And will that cause him to be given temporary custody of the baby? The baby is 10 months and his father has only been involved for the past 2 months, which is when he was issued a child support order and he had filed for custody right after receiving it, before he even saw the baby for the first time. I just want to know in a nutshell if the baby was going to be home with me tomorrow? Will I be given temporary custody based on his age and his father visitation? Will the judge grant him rotating weeks or weekends. I stay home with him during the day. His dad works and wants me to babysit my own child instead of daycare. Which will be bouncing him back and forth between homes everyday. Plus I will still have him more.

Re: Family Law/Child Custody

Yes, by now you should know that the court has awarded you at least temporary custody of this infant child and the father some visitation.
