Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Family Law/Child Visitation

Over the last four years I've told the father we had plans 3 or 4 times and that he couldn't come on his assigned day. He has taken me to court for violation of a court order. How much trouble could I get in? He hasn't come to our home in over a year now and has around 16 recent felony arrests.

Re: Family Law/Child Visitation

Probably not much; just explain any mitigating circumstances which may have caused the child(ren) not to be available for their father's visitation, and then tell the judge that you'll make extra efforts to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
