Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Father want to take infant out of state

My son is 4 months old and his father wants to take him from VA to FL next month. He is married and they have two kids of their own and all of us get along, however i am uncomfortable with him taking him so far. I have taken my son to NC before to visit my family and he had not objected. He is a good father and takes care of him almost everyday. We have no legal paperwork between us and i was wondering what are his actual rights to take him? So far paternity has not been established we have just worked everything out on our own. What if any paperwork should be done prior to any more out of state vacations by either of us to avoid more issues?

Re: Father want to take infant out of state

If paternity has not been legally established for this father, he has no recognized legal rights whatsoever wih respect to the subject child.
