Father's right to unborn child

I am having a baby next week by c-section. The father and I split up after a 2 month relationship when I was a month pregnant. I was wondering what rights he has in VA to this child. He has had 2 DUI, has a drinking problem, has had an assault charge, a drug charge. He, in my opinion is very unstable and I do not want my child around him. My first son passed away when he was a week old so I am very protective of the one soon to come. What are the options to keep this man away from me and my child?

His rights, whatever they may be with respect to this aborning child, can be decided by the appropriate court of law after you exercise your right as the child's natural mother in refusing to allow him any access to the child whatsoever.
