Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Where can I file for a divorce Ohio, Virginia or either?

I live in Ohio and my spouse is living in Virginia. Do I have to file for divorce in Ohio or can I file in Virginia? The reason I ask is that Virginia child support laws have lower rates than Ohio does.

Depends. Jurisdiction for divorce is a statutory matter, and each state has it's own rules for jurisdiction. You could file in Virginia, since he lives here, but it would be more common for you to file in Ohio, if that's where you were married, or last lived together.
