final decree of divorce

my seperation papers say that i don't have to countine paying my spouse support money once our final decree of divorce has been issued. i've filed for divorce and sent them the papers I just waiting on them to send them back to me to turn into the court. do i still have to pay him money until i get the papers back? We have no children. essentially once he signs we're done.

Re: final decree of divorce

Based upon your description of matters, your spousal support obligation would appear to continue until the actual entry of your divorce decree. The fact that you have submitted the papers to the court for the divorce is not the same as entry (meaning signature by a judge)of the decree.
