Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

final decree

I never received my final decree from my husband, he got married in 2003 to another person. He is currently in the hospital fighting for his life. If (God for bids)that he dies, I'm I the one that will have to bury him; or do I have any rights to his estate? I never received any thing stating that we where divorced. Also, if we where still married and he married another, does that make our marriage current, the other with the other person marriage null and foid.

Re: final decree

Without commenting on whether he is legally married, you can find out by either calling the bureau of vital records in Va, OR calling the Clerk's office of the Circuit Court where the divorce would have been filed. I hope everything works out for the best.
