Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Cannot find husband

My husband and I were married in Virginia. We have not lived together since January of 2005. He still lives in VA but I've been living in Arizona since August. We have no children or assets to worry with. I cannot get in touch with him to resolve this matter. I need to file for divorce but with the circumstances as they are, I have no idea what to do next.

Re: Cannot find husband

You should be able to file for divorce in Arizona and apply to the court for permission to serve your husband notice by publication if his whereabouts is unknown. This involves

publishing a notice regarding your pending divorce for a number of consecutive weeks in an Arizona newspaper which has the circulation size to meet the requirement for this type of legal notice.
