Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

A firm in Williamsburg has sought a complaint for partition which is based completely upon deliberate misstatements. The parties have met in court and agreed to the proper separation of property and it was ordered by the court, but no order was reduced to writing and I was told no record exists. First, am I correct in assuming there must be a record of the court order and second, would the lies contained in the complaint constitute and ethics violation in Virginia (Williamburg). Please advise.

If a Virginia circuit court came down with an order in the matter, this court

as a court of record would have the written order as part of its official record

of the case.

No, whatever may have been alleged in the complaint could not become the

source of a viable charge for an ethics violation under the Virginia Rules

of Professional Conduct.
