If someone name was forged on a birth certificate and this person believes that they are not the father the child can they petition the courts for a paternity test and have their name remove pending the outcome of that test. (State: Virginia)

Yes, such a person could petition the appropriate J&DR;Court for a

paternity test but no vital records would be changed until the results

of the test were in and the court had ordered the agency for vital records in Richmond to make the appropriate changes in its records.
