Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Forida Protective Order

A restraining or protective was put on my son by his former girl friend in Florida. It is my understanding neither person is to contact the other. On a side note, she lied on the information she provided.

Now she has moved back to Virginia and has been calling, leaving messages, etc. I have told him to ignore and do not talk to her.

Since she is no longer in Florida does the Florida order still stand or can we call the local sheriff to have her stop for violating her own order?

Thank you

Re: Forida Protective Order

A local Virginia sheriff is unlikely to be willing to attempt to enforce the Floridian equivalent of a Virginia CPO.

The advice which you've apparently already given to your son would also be what I would offer in this particular situation.
