Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have full custody of my daughter, if her father wanted to petition the court for joint custody will it be granted? Right now he has full access to her thru visitation (not court ordered) so if he went to file will he get more than visitation even though I do not want to have joint custody with him?
