Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have full permanent custody of my granddaughter; she is three years old. I let her go visit with her dad my ex-son-in-law over the weekend. His girlfriend took her out and got her ears pierced and she came home with florescent blue eye shadow on. I am livid but don't know what to do? Is there something I can do or do I just stop letting the dad have visitation with her?

No, you cannot simply decide on your own to not let the child visit her father without a proper order from the court having jurisdiction over the custody/visitation matters.

You can, however, contact the father and explain that in the future he must first

obtain your approval to have any of the kinds of things done to the child as

you've described or you may have to request that the court limit his visitation

with the child to supervised visitation only.
