Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
What is a GAL's responsibility when she knows a father is lying about a medical condition of his child in an attempt to prove wrong doing by the mother? And what is her responsibility when same husband has been reported to CPS for questionable "discipline"? He is seeking full custody and has manipulated the same GAL into pushing the line. Can the GAL be held liable in any way?

Assuming that you have proper standing in the legal case which occasioned
the appointment of this G.A.L., you could write a letter of complaint to the
judge presiding over this matter, accompanied, of course, by the credible evidence required to support your claims and request a hearing on the issue of whether this G.A.L should be removed and replaced with another attorney to act as this particular child's Guardian ad litem.
