Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

If i give up custody to my children would i ever be able to got custody back.

my wife has filed incomplete court papers stating that i worked and i did not.she also recieved childsupport thru state funding. i cannot pay this because i am in jail. i was told that i could give up custody to by some time to take care of this matter after i was released. as of now i owe about fourteen thousand and have no way of ever paying it.

Why would you risk it and what would you gain? Not having to pay child

support arrearages that you could not pay anyway?
