Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
If I give full custody of my 6 children to my soon to be ex husband because he has the means to support them and physical help in the home, does this mean that when my situation improves I can never get them back, or go to joint custody?

Not necessarily, but it could be difficult if the custody matter results
in a court order which requires a showing that there's been a material change in
the circumstances of the case since the last order was entered which
may require a change in that order.
And, unless you could show such a material change in the circumstances of the case which would justify the court awarding you the custody which you were seeking, it would be unlikely to happen
(in my opinion).
