No reason was stated as to why husband must have wife's WORK tel number. If the exisisting decree states merely that wife's (mother's) tel number is to be furnished, there is no obligation to furnish a "work" number until some compelling reason or justification is established or the furnishing of same is specified in some court order or decree.

Re: Do I need to give my ex my work number?

Not necessarily. Under section 20-60.3 of the Code of Virginia, the party paying support must keep the party to whom support is being paid and the court informed about his or her employer and employer's telephone number. Under that same section of the Code both parties must keep each other informed of any changes in home address and home telephone number.

If the court order that you have regarding support requires him to pay for child care, he may not stop paying that amount without a new order of the court being entered. If he stops paying the amount the court ordered, he could be held in contempt of court.
