Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

my grandson's mother has moved from va to tx and taken him with her. She is living with her mother who is an ex-con. My son- the father-currently lives here with my husband and I and he pays child support. He is now unemployed but so is the mother of the child. Can she just up and move like that? Do we have rights to visitation?

Sure, she can move anytime with the child unless there's a valid

court order in effect which at least requires her to give 30 days prior

notice of the move to the court and the father.

Any rights of visitation for your son would be up to the court

of proper jurisdiction hearing this issue to decide.
