Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My grandsons mother has been put in jail for petty larceny for the 2nd time and is up on charges for the 3rd time. How does my son go about getting sole custody of my grandson. He has legal joint custody of him now. Thanks

Based upon these facts alone, one could not reliably say for certain

whether your son might be awarded sole physical and legal custody of your

grandson, should he file for such custody under the circumstances described.

Your son would seem well advised to arrange for a consultation

with an attorney who handles domestic relations matters in the

particular court which now has jurisdiction over these matters and who

should be able to further advise him on this issue, accordingly.
