Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Harassment?

My childs father takes me to court 3-4 times a year. This has been the case for many years. He looks for any excuse and often fabricates a reason or twists the truth in order to make me look bad. This man is extremely controling. I have been told that I will have to live this way until our child is 18. Financially, emotionally and physically this situation has taken it's toll. And this obviously reflects on the child no matter how much I attempt to shield them. Is there any way to put an end to this? Could this be considered harassment or mental cruelty? Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Harassment?

If he is continually bringing you into court for frivolous reasons, you should ask for attorney fees and ask that he be sanctioned by the court for bringing a frivolous action. If that happens to him enough times and the court responds favorably, he will get the message.
