Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

What can I do about harassment from ex spouse

I have been divorced for 9 months. The seperation was due to a domestic violence situation. Since the seperation I have been receiving harassing phone calls and letters. I hoped after the divorce these would stop. My daughter says she is scared of her father and doesn't want to talk to him on the phone or visit with him because all he does is lecture her about what a bad daughter she is and what a bad mother she has. We currently have joint custody. Is there anything I can do to make him stop this harassment via email, letters or phone.

Re: Harassment from ex spouse

I recommend filing a motion for sole custody, based on former husband's conduct, and litigating it aggressively. Seeking a civil protection order or a conviction for telephone harassment is not as effective, in my professional experience.
