Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

harrassing step mother

My sons father and I have a visitation order in effect. My sons father is also trying to seek custody. Everytime I try to speak with my sons father his wife always jumps in. On numerous occassions she has told me I need speak with her about anything that pertains to him even though she is not in the order. We don't get along because of this and now she has chosen to work at my sons school. I am concern that she is trying to get information. Could this be a form or harrassment or do I have a leg to stand on?

Re: harrassing step mother

Why, yes, of course what you've described might well be at least a precursor to actual harassment, but unless it takes a different and more serious form such as threats of bodily harm or stalking, the conduct which you've described is simply not actionable under Virginia law (at least as I understand it).
