Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Hello-

I am the custodial parent and my child support is up for review. I do not agree with some of the figures as my one child turns 18 but I am still supporting her and feel the noncustodial parent should. Also I am paying health insurance that I am not receiving a credit for. When this goes to court their father (non custodial parent) will have an attorney but I will not. If I lose will I have to pay his attorneys fees?

Thank you,

Karen

No, you will not have to pay his attorney fees, but if your only child is turning age 18, the noncustodial parent's obligation to pay child support will terminate when that occurs unless the child has yet to graduate from high school or there is a provision incorporated in your divorce settlement which requires her father to pay support while she attends college.
