Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Hello,
I have a family member that is spreading false information about things that I have said with intent of damaging my good name. He has been telling other family members that I have been saying false things about them. I have evidence to back up that I did not say these things. He is estrange from us and I would like to keep him far away from us. What are my legal options if he continues to slander/harass me. I'm not interested in money, just want him to stay away from me and my family.

You could send a letter to demand that he cease and desist the slander and harassment or your will refer this matter to an attorney. You might even demand that he retract the false statements and apologize in writing. Or you could just tell him this. Of course, you may be opening a can of worms, but no one could blame you for trying to protect yourself. Good luck.
