Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

He had been hiding 75% of his income!

My daughter is now 21 years old. Her father was paying court ordered child support of $44 a week for her. This was based on his income from a building superintendant job that paid hardly anything. At the time I thought it was unfair because they didn't count as income his free apartment, phone and utilities, but I accepted it.

I have recently found out, since my daughter has turned 21, that her father had been hiding assets for all of these years. He worked on the books for St. Johns University in NY making over $60,000 a year base pay not including overtime, benefits, etc. He hid this job from me, his daugher and the court for about 10 years.

He is laughing now, as he said it's too late for me to do anything about it. Is that true?

I just relocated to Virginia Beach, VA with (my son) and daughter. They were born and raised in Brooklyn NY and that is where my daughter's father still lives and works.

He recently ''bought'' a townhouse with his daughter, here in Virginia Beach, putting a small down payment on it, and in which I am staying in at this time.

Is there any legal remedy for me?

Re: He had been hiding 75% of his income!

If there are any remedies that you could possibly bring to bear against this miscreant underpayer, remedies such as fraud, perjury, or, perhaps, even an action for unjust enrichment, all of these actions would necessarily have to be brought against this father in the court(s) which ordered him to pay the$44.00 per week pittance which he,apparently, ever so faithfully (and happily) paid for so many years. And these would not appear to be any courts located within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
