Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
My husband has a savings account for his daughter's child support because his ex was not cashing the checks in a timely manner. However, he is not giving her any of the money. He says that in order to give the money to her, he will have to hire a lawyer, I say he is wrong.
Also, he has been between jobs on several occasions and would not have been able to give her all he owes her. He said if he gives her (x) amount of money and then cannot give that amount consistantly, it wouldn't look good. I feel the court would look better on him if he gives as much as he can as often as he can. What do you think?

I agree with you; for any amounts which he's in arrears, he's potentially in contempt of court(and subject to sanctions, accordingly).
