Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

my husband is wanting to adopt my son. his father is willing to sign over his rights so this can happen. can i do most if not all the work with out having to go to a lawyer and paying them?

Sure, you could try going what the law terms pro se, beginning with the petition for a step-parent adoption, but the potential for numerous errors would be quite substantial (in my opinion).
