Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Does illegitimate child have any rights in Virginia?

I am in my 40's. My birth father died in 2005. I never met him. I was never adopted. I met my siblings after the death and I am not in the will. From what I have found out, my father didn't even know my name. Do I have any right to contest, and also do I have the right to change my birth certificate? I guess what I really want to know is do I have any rights at all. There is no doubt about paternity. I look just like him. He is not on birth certificate. Thanks.

Re: Does illegitimate child have any rights in Virginia?

No, under the circumstances which you've described, you would have no right to contest your alleged father's will nor to add his name to your birth certificate as your father.
