Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Interrogatory and a Non-Plaintiff

My spouse and his ex are in civil court battling his motion to review alimony for modification or termination after 25 years. Can his ex's attorney require me to answer questions about my financial information related to my income/expenses and information pertaining to my minor child (he adopted) when I am not a party to the lawsuit?

Re: Interrogatory and a Non-Plaintiff

No, you cannot be asked about your income and expenses. The only relevant questions pertain to the child he adopted. Under section 20-108.2(4)your husband should have his gross income reduced by the amount of his support obligation for the child, before his support to the ex is calculated. So, that is in HIS favor.
