Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Joint Custody/Sole Custody

I am thinking about filing for Sole Custody. I am looking to see if there is a pro bono lawyer that is interested in helping me. I am a single mother of one child. I do have a job, but due to the lack of money for a babysitter I don't work much. Child support has been filed and approved, but I have not recieved the payments due to the dissapearance of the child's father. I would like to file for Sole Custody to protect my rights as being a mother.

Re: Joint Custody/Sole Custody

You might want to look into contacting the legal aid services agency in your locale to see whether you might qualify for one of their attorneys to assist you with this matter..

I very much doubt that any other type attorney would want to take on this matter on a pro bono basis.
