Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Jurisdiction

I and my children have lived in CT for almost 3 years now, having moved from VA. I filed for a change of jurisdiction about 2 years ago, and all the paperwork went through fine. Now my ex-husband is taking me to court in VA. Doesn't he have to file in CT? He is taking me to court regarding visitation, and reduction in child support. Our divorce was final in 1994.

Re: Jurisdiction

Jurisdiction shifted to CT after six months, pursuant to the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act, unless there was a visitation emergency in VA, or the parents agreed in writing to continue VA jurisdiction.
