Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Ex keeping my daugther from me.

My ex and i have seperated 5 months ago. We have had a verbal agreement on how the visitation will be. I had called today to tell her about me going to pick her up. I got a text message from her freinds phone saying she has a lawyer and says if i go to get my daugther i will be arressted. I asked for her lawyers number and name and will not give it to me. I have not received any papers or anything else in the mail. I want to know if she can do this and what i need to do next. Also if it matters she resides in florida and i reside in virgina.Thank you.

No, you cannot be arrested under these circumstances for attempting to exercise your right of visitation under a verbal agreement with your former wife

who is merely "blowin' smoke" in regard to her threats. But, obviously, there needs to be a valid court order put in place to protect your rights as well as the interests of your child. (And, sooner will likely be much better than later, as it is in most of these kinds of matters.)
