Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

What is the law pertaining to grandparents rights? My daughter has recently gotten mad at me over a silly situation and will not allow me to see my 2 grandsons (2 and 4) or talk to them. Would not let me come to my 4 year olds birthday. What should I do?

Under Va. Code Sec. 20-124.1, grandparents are recognized as persons

with a legitimate interest in securing visitation rights with their grandchildren,

and, if it is necessary to obtain a court order in your particular situation

to secure such rights, you could go to the clerk's office(civil division)

of the J&D Court in the city or county where the children reside and file

your petition for visitation. (The clerk will have the necessary forms to be completed there.)
