Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Law Suit - Damages

I know who my father is but my mother never went after him for child support. I'm now in college and struggling. Do I have any recourse against my biological father for not being there or supporting me financially? Can I sue him for neglect? He knows of me, however, my mother didn't put him on the birth certificate. I feel however that he should pay and I have suffered financially and emotionally because of his negligence. Please advise

Not very likely. If you are over 18 even more unlikely.

Based upon the facts which you've recounted here in your question, I see no basis whatsoever for a viable suit in you behalf against this person whom you allege is your father--whether it be premised upon your theory of neglect or something else.
