Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

getting a lawyer when you are the non working spouse

If I am a non working spouse and have quit my job several years ago to stay home with our 3 children...how do I go about hiring a lawyer and paying for one when my husband ''makes'' all the money and considers it his. I feel trapped because I do not ''make'' the money therefore cannot just take our joint bank account and go get an apartment to get out of our situation because all he will do is clsoe the bank account, and then I will have no money for anything and 3 kids with me.

He loves to use this over me about closing the bank account...so how does one precede from that point on

You should contact one of the low cost legal service providers in your area to see whether you might qualify for the assistance of one of their attorneys at little or, perhaps, even no cost to you.
