Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Lease
I lived with my husband for a year and now he wants a divorce. The thing is he not only broke the lease but I was never on it. He wants me to pay half of his debt for breaking the lease and half of bills left unpaid in his name. Is that possible if I not only wasnt on the lease and he had the apartment before we got married? (fyi we live in VA)

Re: Lease
Yes, of course it's possible (for him to make such a request). However, if you mean to ask whether such a request is legally enforceable, that could prove more problematic, but if you received the benefit of living in the apartment for a year, it's probably only fair that you should pay at least part of these biils.
