Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Legal Guardian/Custody

My ex currently has sole custody of our daughter. I have visitation rights. My question is with her having sole custody is she able to sign over custody to someone else. For example can she give her mother custody or guardianship. If she tries to do that would I be able to object to it. I still have parental rights so I should be the one to get my daughter correct?

Re: Legal Guardian/Custody

Yes, you could object to it, and, furthermore, no parent has any any authority to merely "sign over custody(of a child) to someone else" as only a court of law with proper jurisdiction over such matters could make this kind of decision which would have any substantive legal validity.
