Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Legal Seperation in State of Virginia
I am a stay at home Mom and have been for the past six years. I quit my job six years ago to stay at home with my children so my husband could take a position of advancement. He was no longer able to take off work in his new position when required by my job. I would like to know if he is required to support me and my children until I am able to find a job that could support me and my children with his help? Do I have any rights as a stay at home Mom?

Re: Legal Seperation in State of Virginia
I am assuming that you are currently separated and have temporary custody of your children. In such a case he is obligated to pay child support; with respect to spousal support it is not an absolute, but, under the facts as you described, could likely be recovered. In both cases you will need to seek an order in court and I would advise to see an attorney for more assistance.
