If i am legally separated from my husband do i still have to file taxes with him? And can i be claimed as someones else's dependant other than his if they provide over half of my income?

You do not have to file jointly with your husband. You can file "married filing separately".
I am unsure if someone else can claim you as a dependent. Go back to lawguru.com and post the question a tax attorney. They would likely know much more than a family law attorney such as myself.
Good luck.
