I live in Va. My child is 18 and graduates in may 2016. He went to live with his dad in September of 2015. He filled for support on March 21,2016. When will I have to start paying?

You will have to start paying support when the Court has heard his petition and awarded him support. The earliest date from which he can begin to be awarded support is the date you were served with his March 21, 2016 petition, so court ordered support can only last from March 21 to the date your son graduates in May. The Court may only make support retroactive to the date of service of a petition for support.
