I live in Virginia. My husband and I have been seperated for over 5 years. He has become ill and has quite a bit of credit card debt. If he passes am I responsible for his credit card debt? We are NOT divorced

No, assuming that you yourself did not personally incur any of this debt and that

most or all of these charges came about after you separated.
