Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I live in Virginia. My son and his wife (also living in Va) are separated. There is no written separation agreement as of this writing. The final straw for my son was when his wife moved a female friend (known to abuse drugs) in to their home despite my son's strong objection. He felt he had no other choice but to leave. He has a daughter (14) from a previous relationship, and when he married his current wife, I purchased a bedroom suite for my granddaughter - one that I believed she would eventually take to college with her. I recently told my daughter in law that I need to pick up the furniture that belongs to my granddaughter and she has refused! Do I have any legal right to claim this furniture?

Your son, who, apparently, is still legally entitled to enter the marital home,

should retrieve this bedroom suite rather than you who might be subject to

a charge of trespassing by this daughter-in-law.
