Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Help locating Mother and Daughter
I have been given Joint Custody for my 3 yr old daughter, due to the fact that they could not server her with the court order. So I haven't seen my daughter since January 2002 and no way to locate them. Child Support has mailed me a letter stating that I owe more money for my child. I don't have a problem paying my child support but I would like to be able to see my daughter is there anything I can do to find them? I know that DCSS has her address but they won't give me any help is there anything I can do? I also know that my daughters mother can petition for an audit of child support and not be in the state but doesn't DCSS have to give me the location of my child since there is a joint custody order out? Thank you for your help

Re: Help locating Mother and Daughter
If the joint custody order was handed down by a
Virginia J&DRDC, you can go to the clerk's office
and request that a hearing be scheduled on the matter on one of DCSE's court days, and, then make your oral motion to the judge that DCSE be required to provide you with whatever address(es)
they may have for the mother and child.
