Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I am a male unmarried and have a one month old child , the woman i am involved with is living with me an has for over a year . She is a diagnosed bipolar , has hit me in the past . We are not working out and she is threatening to leave states , where her family lives in Mississippi with our daughter . I am scared an nervous for her to do that because she is so moody an up an down all the time . i am looking for the best interest in our daughter , and i don't believe it would be in Mississippi with my girlfriend. I am on my daughters birth certificate and she has my last name . Is there any thing i can do to keep my daughter here.

Petition your local J&D court for a paternity test and then custody of the child(if you're formally adjudged to be the father of this child).
