Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Our marriage has broken down as my husbands daughetr has never accepted me. She has some emotional issues and has said some quite damaging things aboutme that has ruined my good reputation. It is going on for 7 years now since we were married. My husband knows its not true but has never wanted to confront her or intervene. Now she has married, none of it makes sense to her new husband, so he wants a showdown with myself and husband. My husband does not want to say anything as in his words "he doesnt want her to look bad in front of her husband. Thats fine. I just have to put up with the ceaseless hurtful and malicious lies and what seems to be unfinished business between husband, his ex-wife and their daughter. It is damaging our marriage. I confided in one close friend by email, two continents away about what is going on and my husband read it. Theres is nothing i regret as such, only causing him embarrassment and pain by confiding in someone else. For doing so he wants to divorce me, but not between us, but through a lawyer. I am a stay at home mum with 3 children, youngest under 1, no job, no assets and no money. I have always been 100% faithful, do not drink or smoke, do not even go out to clubs or discos with friends and am with my family almost 24/7. I know i have been a good wife (i did my best) and mother. What do i do from here?
