Married before a divorce is final

Is it illegal to marry before your divorce is final from a previous marriage?

Yes. You must wait for a final order to be entered before remarrying.

Under Va. Code Sec. 20-38.1, all such marriages are illegal and apparently considered void ab initio (from the beginning).
