Married or Married

If was married in the state of Virginia 25 years ago and I was told that because I didn't divorce in the state of Virginia that I wasn't leagly divorced. Is this true? I was divorce in the state of Ohio 23 years ago and then remarried. Please help!?

Someone is playing head games with you. If you were legally divorced in Ohio then the divorce is legal. There is not a requirement that the divorce be in the state you were married. Each state recognizes the mariages of the other.
